Where in the world is Mills River, NC?

I'll tell you! Nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Mills River, North Carolina, is a small town that offers natural beauty and plenty of outdoor activities. It's a great place to live if you don't want to be in a big town, and it's only 25 mins. from Asheville, 10 minutes from Hendersonville, and about 20 minutes from Brevard!


Hiking enthusiasts will find themselves in heaven when visiting Mills River. The town is surrounded by miles of trails, including the popular Mills River Trail, which winds through the Pisgah National Forest and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. The North Mills River Recreation Area is another popular destination for hikers, offering a network of trails that range from easy to strenuous.


But Mills River isn't just for hikers - it's also a hub for craft beer lovers. The town is home to several breweries and taprooms, including the Sierra Nevada Brewing Company and Bold Rock Hard Cider. Visitors can take tours of these facilities, sample the local brews, and enjoy live music and other events. If wine is more your style, check out Blush Winery on Boyleston Hwy.



For those who prefer a slower pace, Mills River offers plenty of opportunities for relaxation and contemplation. Fly fishing, tubing, picnicking and chasing waterfalls are among other activities folks around here enjoy.




One of the town's most popular attractions is the Mills River Creamery, which offers fresh ice cream made with milk from local farms. Visitors can enjoy a cone or a sundae while taking in the picturesque scenery. Additionally, honey, cheeses, preserves and other locally made goods are sold here. Stop in when you're in town!



Mills River is also home to a number of local festivals and events throughout the year, including the annual Mills River Day celebration, which features live music, food vendors, and activities for the whole family!


Mills River Park is an amazing place to play for a while! With a "park within a park" for dogs to be off leash, paved trails, playground equipment, open fields, and indoor restrooms, this park is well loved by locals and visitors alike.
